Top

The benefits for women

It helps you lose weight

With Top you can tone your muscles and simultaneously burn calories while getting cardio training. Selecting different types of movements (standing, sitting, with long or short levers), you'll avoid boring repetitions and make your workout last longer, thereby increasing the consumption of calories.

It helps you be more beautiful

With this training you can achieve a more beautiful and proportionate physical appearance, firming your arms faster than weights and eliminating the blemishes that are typically associated with advancing age or that turn up after a diet.

Prevents joint problems

Training with Top lets you choose to warm up the muscles in your upper body, preventing future problems and injuries.

Straightens your back

With Top you'll start improving your posture the very first time you use it, because its biomechanics help you assume the proper position. As you exercise, the machine works the muscles of your torso and shoulders, correcting the bad habits caused by a sedentary lifestyle.

Benefits for Men

Strengthens muscles

With consistent training you can increase the strength, endurance and mass of your biceps, shoulders and back. Thanks to the option to manage various types of movement by adjusting the levers and changing the rotation, you can also decide which muscles you want to work with.

Helps you reach your goals quickly

Compared to weights and dumbbells, Top helps you move your arms correctly, without losing the right position, which makes the exercise more effective. You'll also achieve the results you want more quickly, because 20 minutes of exercise correspond to many more hours dedicated to lifting weights.

The benefits for athletes

Prevents problems and trains shoulders and arms

Training the upper part of your body is important for many sports, especially swimming, canoeing, boxing, volley ball, tennis, basketball and all other sports that require the use of your shoulders and arms. By training consistently with Top, you can prevent the typical problems that can be caused by sports, such as those that occur in the shoulders and elbows.

Helps you prepare for competition

The Warm Up function is a preparatory program for competitive events developed by the Technogym Medical and Scientific Research team. The program lasts 4 minutes and is divided into two phases: in the first the levers rotate forward for three minutes, and in the second they rotate the opposite direction with increasing resistance. This means that all of your muscles and joints are involved in a balanced way.

Lets you manage your limbs differently

If you don't want to strain a sore arm or shoulder, you can adjust the height and length of the levers differently. The shorter and lower a lever is, the less force you need to exert with that limb.

What Top is like?

Top is similar to a bicycle for the arms equipped with two lever/pedals and a seat. The platforms in front are for resting your feet, while the ones in back can be used to accommodate a wheelchair or standing exercise once you remove the seat. Without any need for advance instruction, you can choose from a number of different workouts and a few special functions, such as the Warm Up program and the various fitness tests, including one to indirectly estimate maximum aerobic power.

How is it used?

Depending on how you decide to use the equipment, you can change which muscles are involved and your training goal. The recommendation is to alternate positions, either in different sessions or during a single session. Here are a few workout examples:

With lever arm long

This movement allows you work on the strength of your shoulders, arms and obliques, since it requires greater rotation of the torso.

With lever arm short

This motion generates less force, but it increases the contraction of muscles in your torso and back. This makes it suitable for posture problems.

With one arm long and one short

This exercise is suitable if you have joint problems in one arm or shoulder, since it allows you to rest that limb.

Seated

By remaining seated, you concentrate the work on your arms and torso. In this position the pelvis performs a twist but at the same time stays in equilibrium. That is why this exercise is recommended if you want to focus on your hips, improve your posture and train for swimming, canoeing and all sports that require you to twist your torso.

Standing

By standing up, you'll also get your leg and gluteus muscles involved. This position reduces the work done by the upper half of your body, so it's recommended if you're not especially strong in your arms.

With different lever heights

The height of the axis of rotation is used to increase or decrease involvement of the heart. A higher position puts greater demand on the heart and is indicated for athletes, while a lower position reduces demand and is preferable if you have heart problems.

With different direction of rotation

You can move the Top levers forward or backward. Forward rotation activates the larger muscles, meaning those in the chest and back, which burns through more energy and calories. Backward rotation involves the smaller muscles like those in the arms.
