Andrew Barrett
Andy has been dancing Salsa for over 20yrs performing and teaching worldwide for well known stars such as Mick Jagger, Jools Holland, Joan Collins and many more..He is one of the pioneers of Salsa in the uk. He continues to teach the most popular forms of Salsa LA crossbody on 1, New York Cross body on 2, Cuban Salsa. Andy teaches Salsa Cross Body on1 here at the Factory every Tuesday, beginners through to intermediates. There are a number of Workshops throughout the year that should not be missed for all levels. He makes the classes fun, informative and very easy to learn to Salsa.


Pole Dancing


Dana Mayer
Has been teaching pole dancing, burlesque and exotic dance in London for the past five years and performing for ten. She was assistant choreographer on the feature film “Closer”, has taught and choreographed for indie films “Stagknight” and “The Grind" , the Playboy poledance ad campaign on ITV1 and Sky, and for shows at London's Pleasance. Dana has taught and performed on BBC1's “Holiday - You Call the Shots” and Living TV's “Living With Kimberly”.

Andrew Cuerden
Andrew moved to England from South Africa in 1996 to pursue his dancing career. He amateur career culminated in reaching English ranking of number 4 in the country. Since then Andrew turned professional and has had some fantastic opportunities including being chosen as one of the professional dancers on the hit BBC1 show “Strictly Come Dancing”

Yoga


Nadine
Nadine has a wealth of experience working with the body as she trained professionally as a dancer. An injury led her to take up Yoga and she was hooked straight away! She has been practicing religiously for 10 years and teaching for the last 7, has had the pleasure of training with some of world’s most renowned teachers and has just completed her British Wheel of Yoga teaching diploma. Nadine tries to incorporate the ancient teachings of Yoga into her classes and makes her classes fun and accessible to all.

Pilates


Sally Nicholls


Sally Nicholls has been a fitness professional for over 18 years, teaching a wide range of exercise to both mainstream and specialist populations. She now focuses entirely on Pilates, which once learned, can be incorporated into all other forms of exercise disciplines. She teaches mostly mat based Pilates using a combination of both contemporary and classic styles. This allows for a natural transitional flow from one move to the next whilst also allowing the foundational components of each exercise to be experimented with, so that people can challenge themselves at their own progression level. www.pilatesbodydesign.co.uk

Nicola Geismar


Nicola's background is multi-disciplinary having trained heavily in a variety of dance disciplines.
As well as her physical training, Nicola has experience in coordinating dance projects for urban youth and is a qualified Pilates instructor.
She has taught Pilates at some of the top studios in London, Montreal and New York as well as training a number of private clients.
As a promoter of Hip Hop dance artists Nicola has built contacts worldwide from South Africa to Brighton. She is a key liaison in arranging transatlantic cultural dance exchanges. Most recently Nicola was successful in bringing Greg Campbellock Jr to London to teach workshops at the world renowned Breakin Convention in London, England.

Tina Baker
Our Aerobics Instructor is GMTV’s Tina Baker who lost 2½ stone on TV show “Celebrity Fit Club”. She’s kept the weight off for three years and has even dropped a further dress size through to exercise. She’s a qualified YMCA instructor and specialises in fitness coaching.

Belly Dancing


Reshma Rose
With over 5 years experience in the Belly dance industry, Reshma Rose is a Modern Egyptian style professional belly dancer and qualified belly dance teacher. Based in North West London, Reshma Rose is a member of 2 successful belly dance groups who perform regularly at seated concerts, shows, restaurants, weddings and events. She has performed at the O2 Centre, The British Museum, at The Big Dance in Trafalgar Square, and many other venues.

Street Dance


Zoe Aston
Zoe is the Choreographer of Interlude Dance Troupe UK and has trained at Millennium Dance 2000. Since then she has worked with major companies including T4, MTV, DefJam Records, Nickelodeon and choreographed for top events such as Breakin Convention, Street Dance Weekend and many more. She has also had the privilege of teaching in Cape Town, South Africa and works with all age groups and ability levels.


Carron Amaranto
Carron is a dancer from North London. Since graduating from WAC Performing Arts and Media college in 2007, she has appeared in stage shows, commercials and music videos for artists such as Akon, Sway and Duffy. She has also performed as a member of Boy Blue Entertainment, a Hip-Hop dance group based in east London, and has experience in teaching all levels, ages and styles. She is trained in many disciplines from Cuban Salsa to Hip-hop, Indian to African dance, alongside more traditional styles such as Jazz and contemporary. Her classes are fun commercial street dance, grooving to the latest tracks.


Ballet Fusion


Rhona Crewe
Rhona has been a professional dancer and actress for 8 years. Dancing on TV shows such as the X-Factor and TOTP, and on stages such as the Royal Albert hall and 'The Place' theatre. Her basis has always been in Ballet and Contemporary, and for this reason she has enjoyed teaching her personally created class, 'Ballet Fusion' at gyms and dance colleges across London since 2001.


NIA


Jo Marsden
Jo is a Blue Belt Nia Teacher. She has also practiced yoga for over 20 years, is a qualified holistic massage therapist and visual artist. This combination of skills enables her to deliver a strong body-centred Nia class which is both powerful and joyful, using dance, yoga and martial arts plus the added dimension of colourful imagery. She found Nia by chance some 3 years ago at her local gym and experienced a strong sense of "coming home." Three months later she started teacher training and has since belted on White and Blue qualifications. She teaches at Islington Arts Factory and regularly demonstrates with other London Nia Teachers at the London Mind Body and Spirit Exhibition "Nia has changed my life," says Jo, "Now I Am healthier, slimmer (I lost 10 kilos!) fitter, happier and I dance through life..."



Jazz Fusion


Heather Cupid
Heather has been dancing for 10 years in jazz, ballet and contemporary dance. After completing her degree in Dance Performance at Middlesex University in 2007 she has appeared in several theatre/dance productions, including Me and My girl for Eyebrow Productions at the London Palladium in 2008; Moses Jones for BBC2 in 2008 and Resolutions for the Vocab Dance Company at the London School of Contemporary Dance in 2009. Heather is currently a dancer for the Vocab Dance Company (www.vocabdance.co.uk).
Teaching has been an integral part of Heather's dance career. She has taught dance to all ages, from 4 year-olds to adults. Heather teaches several styles of dance, but currently she has focused on Jazz Fusion and Ballet Fusion styles.

Kerry Powell
Kerry is the co-director of the UK's leading alternative dance company, INKO Dancers and trained in Dance Performance at Middlesex University. Professional credits include working for MTV, Kerrang!, E4, BBC1, teaching workshops and performing at The Bloomy Rain Festival in Lithuania and more. The ‘Contemporary Rock’ class is a fusion of commercial & contemporary dance styles choreographed to alternative music!! The company, only in its 2nd year has taken the industry by storm and will be performing at high profile events such as Glastonbury Festival 2009!!
